Excellent Lacquer is a 1-component, low-odour, quickdrying, water-based lacquer made from an acrylic and polyurethane dispersion. It offers good adhesion, has outstanding filling properties and dries to a tough, durable and hardwearing finish. Excellent Lacquer can be used on both new/untreated and previously lacquered wood indoors, such as wood and parquet floors, paneling, doors, staircases, natural cork, etc. It is suitable for all types of wood, fx teak, mahogany, cherry, oak, ash, beech, pitch pine, pine, etc.
Previously finished wood must be cleaned with WOCA Wood Cleaner to remove dirt, grease, wax and soap residues. Sand the surface with sanding grit 100 (final sanding).
Apply Floor-Primer and leave to dry. Sand the surface lightly with sanding grit 120. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner. Untreated or newly sanded floors also have to be vacuumed thoroughly before Lacquering. The surface must be dry before the next stage of treatment.
Apply Excellent Lacquer undiluted with a roller or brush. Allow to dry for approx. 120 minutes, then sand with a sanding pad. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner. Apply another coat of Excellent lacquer.
NB! The waiting time between coats depends on the ambient temperature and humidity. It is important for both the wood and Lacquer to be at a temperature of at least 15°C (59˚F) and preferably 20°C (68˚F), humidity of approx. 55%. The room also needs to be well ventilated, but there should not be a draught.
The finished floor can be walked on with care after approx. 4 hours and light objects can be put back in the room after 24 hours. The freshly sealed floor will be ready for full use after about 5 days (laying rugs, etc.).
