Superior Lacquer is a high-quality water-based, air-hardening, single-component floor lacquer. It is easy to use because it does not need to be mixed with a hardener, and its thickness and fill quality results in a surface with extra scratch-resistance and durability. Superior Lacquer is indoor climate labelled and thus assures a good working environment during application, as well as a comfortable indoor climate afterwards. The lacquer is particularly suitable for areas with high traffic, such as kitchens, corridors, entrance halls and office areas.
It is important that both wood and lacquer are at a temperature of at least 15 °C, and ideally about 20 °C, and that air humidity is approx. 50 %. Make sure that the room is well-ventilated, for optimal evaporation and drying time. The floor must be free of dirt, grease, wax and sanding residue. Floors that have already been lacquered must be cleaned with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner before intermediate sanding. Vacuum clean thoroughly and if required, wipe down the floor with a clean, tightly-wrung cloth.
Shake the lacquer thoroughly before use.
Previously finished wood must be cleaned with WOCA Wood Cleaner to remove dirt, grease, wax and soap residues. Sand the surface with sanding grit 120 (final sanding).
Apply Floor-Primer and leave to dry. Sand the surface lightly with sanding grit 120. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner. Untreated or newly sanded floors also have to be vacuumed thoroughly before lacquering. The surface must be dry before the next stage of treatment.
Apply Superior Lacquer undiluted with a roller or brush. Allow to dry for approx. 120 minutes, then sand lightly with sanding grit 120. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner. Apply another coat of Superior Lacquer.
NB! The waiting time between coats depends on the ambient temperature and humidity. It is important for both the wood and lacquer to be at a temperature of at least 15°C (59˚F) and preferably 20°C (68˚F), air humidity of approx. 55%. The room also needs to be well ventilated, but there should not be a draught.
The finished floor can be walked on with care after approx. 4 hours and light objects put back in the room after 24 hours. The freshly sealed floor will be ready for full use after about 5 days (laying rugs, etc.).
